Snowmobiling, backcountry skiing, white-water rafting and freshwater fishing are just a few of the many recreational opportunities in this spectacular outdoor playground.
With a vibrant First Nations heritage that dates back thousands of years, the region is also rich with historical and cultural attractions. Northern BC is characterized by a diverse climate with mild conditions in the fall and spring, sun-filled summers and snowy winters. The area is accessible by air, rail, road, and sea.
The economic backbone of this region is centred in forestry, tourism, mining, agriculture, fishing and the oil and gas industry.
